For centuries, the Liechtensteins shaped the appearance of Lednice, transforming it into their representative summer residence, which in the mid-19th century became a romantic Neo-Gothic building inspired by English Tudor Gothic. Its interiors combine luxury with ingenuity – from carved ceilings and opulent furniture to a unique self-supporting wooden staircase in the library, built without a single nail. The chateau also surprises with its technical advancements of the time, such as flush toilets, hot water, and a sophisticated hot-air heating system, which ensured unprecedented comfort. The extensive chateau park, a creation from the early 19th century, conceals rare trees, ponds, and exotic structures, such as the Moorish Minaret, the Neo-Gothic John's Castle, and an impressive greenhouse with an ancient cycad. This complex, inscribed on the UNESCO list, represents one of the most significant manifestations of High Romanticism in the Czech Republic and attracts thousands of visitors annually.
