This significant Baroque complex, built according to the design of Jan Blažej Santini-Aichel between 1721 and 1723, represents one of the most remarkable examples of Czech Baroque architecture. Its unusual central composition with a circular core and symmetrical wings creates a dynamic silhouette that emphasizes its representative character. In 1943, a fire severely damaged the castle, but subsequent reconstruction only made the building accessible to the public in 1969. Today, the complex is once again in the ownership of the Kinský family, who host an exhibition here on the history of their lineage and the breeding of horses–the Chlumec swimmers. Visitors can admire the unique interior with its monumental Columned Hall and explore the vast English park featuring a number of historic buildings, including an orangery or a stable. The entire site is protected as a cultural monument and offers a peaceful atmosphere for discovering the history of this noble residence.
