Bílina Chateau, originally a Premyslid stronghold and a Gothic castle from the 13th century, was rebuilt at the end of the 17th century into a representative Baroque residence according to the designs of Giovanni Pietro Tencalla and Antonio della Porta. Today, it is a massive two-story rectangular building with three-story corner pavilions, dominating the town. Its interiors preserve elements from late Gothic to Classicism, including the Italian Hall with fresco decoration. The complex also includes the late Gothic Manda Bastion and an extensive chateau park, which is situated on the site of the original Slavic stronghold. The chateau is privately owned by the Lobkowicz family and is not generally accessible to the public, but its exterior and surroundings offer an impressive glimpse into the rich history of the region.
