Perched majestically on a hill above the village of Kostomlaty pod Milešovkou are the remains of the noble Kostomlaty Castle, whose history dates back to the first half of the 14th century. These ruins, which also gave their name to the local Kostomlatský of Vřesovice family, are an example of a bergfried castle with a two-part layout. The castle was abandoned at the end of the 16th century, marking the beginning of its slow decline. Since 1964, it has been protected as a cultural monument and to this day invites visitors to explore its mysterious ruins, which breathe history.
