The original 13th-century medieval residence was demolished by the citizens of Most after the Thirty Years' War, so the current appearance of the complex dates back to a historicist reconstruction between 1896 and 1914. After climbing the 118 steps of the observation tower, a panorama of the Most Basin, the Ore Mountains, and the Central Bohemian Uplands opens up before you. The site's past is brought to life by the experiential exhibition 'Master Kelley's Workshop', dedicated to the famous alchemist who was imprisoned here. The complex also includes an observatory with a powerful refracting telescope, designed for detailed observation of the night sky and the solar corona. The castle premises currently serve as a hotel with a restaurant and host theatrical performances and other cultural events.
