Hradec nad Moravicí State Castle, a national cultural monument, boasts a rich history dating back to the 11th century, when a Slavic hillfort stood on its site. Its present Empire-style appearance was shaped by the Lichnovský family, who hosted notable figures such as Ludwig van Beethoven and Franz Liszt. The grounds comprise the White Castle with tour circuits full of lavishly furnished salons and princely apartments, the neo-Gothic Red Castle, and the White Tower. Visitors can admire the extensive landscape park, which is the largest in the Moravian-Silesian Region and offers beautiful viewpoints. The castle is a popular tourist destination and the cultural and social center of the Opava region, where music festivals are also held.
