The present-day chateau was built after 1773 by Johann Friedrich von Eichendorff on the site of an older Renaissance fortress of the Vrbenský family from the sixteenth century, and he himself bought the estate in 1787. Thus, a three-winged Classical building with a dome and twenty-one window axes facing the park was created. A pivotal owner was Salomon Mayer Rothschild, who bought the chateau in 1844 and significantly expanded the adjacent park to its current size of almost one hundred hectares with four ponds and Neptune's Fountain. During the Second World War, the property was confiscated and the building served as a field hospital; after 1945, it successively housed a boarding school, a mining school, and a vocational school for the hospitality industry. Since 2008, it has belonged to a private owner, who sensitively renovated it, and today it serves as a hotel with facilities for weddings and corporate events. The park also features a hunting lodge from 1905 and one of the oldest beech trees in Moravia.
