The history of Klášterec nad Ohří Chateau began in the early 16th century, when it was founded by the Fictum family, who held it until the turbulent times of the Thirty Years' War. Subsequently, as part of the post-White Mountain confiscations, it passed into the ownership of the influential Thun-Hohenstein family, in whose possession it remained until nationalization in 1945. Today, this cultural monument majestically stands on the left bank of the Ohře River, on the outskirts of the town of the same name, attracting visitors with its unique atmosphere. Its interiors house a fascinating porcelain exhibition, originating from the collections of the Museum of Decorative Arts, showcasing the richness and diversity of this art. In addition to the permanent exhibition, the chateau also comes alive with regular exhibitions and classical music concerts, which complete its cultural program.
