This medieval residence got its name from the German name of the nearby Ohře River. The first written mention dates back to 1317, when the estate was owned by William of Chýše and Egerberk. At the end of the 14th century, Jindřich Škopek of Dubá had the fortress generously rebuilt to meet the high standards of representation of the time. Today, on a prominent spur at an altitude of 548 meters above the village of Lestkov, you will mainly see the massive remains of the fortifications and the perimeter walls of both palaces. Due to a lack of residential comfort, the castle was abandoned as early as the late 16th century and has gradually fallen into ruin since then.
