The original fortress from the mid-13th century was gradually expanded by the Bibrštejn and Redern families with Renaissance buildings featuring sgraffito decoration. Albrecht of Waldstein and the Clam-Gallas family, who opened the premises to the public as early as 1801, left a significant mark here. The silhouette of the entire complex in the Jizera Mountains is unmistakably shaped by the forty-nine-meter-high Indika Tower. The tour routes lead through interiors with original furniture, a Baroque library, and valuable collections of weapons, paintings, and pipes. The practical side of life at the time is then presented in detail by the preserved and fully functional castle kitchen.
