The history of this noble residence dates back to the 13th century, when an original water fortress stood here. The chateau acquired its current Renaissance appearance with an arcaded courtyard at the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries, and today it is once again owned by the Sternberg family, who were responsible for its extensive reconstruction. Inside, visitors can look forward to richly decorated halls with unique coffered ceilings, the most significant of which is the Knights' Hall with painted scenes from ancient mythology. Surrounding the chateau building is a vast English park with a rose garden, a game park with white fallow deer, and a popular menagerie. The entire complex thus offers a harmonious blend of historical architecture, art collections, and vibrant nature.
