The State Chateau of Opočno is a unique gem of Renaissance architecture, created in the 16th century by rebuilding an original Gothic castle. Its dominant feature is a magnificent three-story Italian-style arcaded courtyard, which enchants visitors with its elegance. Inside the chateau, you will find one of the most important and extensive historical armories in Central Europe, and a valuable art gallery with works by Italian and Dutch masters. The chateau grounds are complemented by a vast English park with ponds, waterfalls, and romantic buildings such as a summer house or a Chinese pavilion. Opočno offers the unique atmosphere of an aristocratic residence, which was owned for centuries by the prominent Trčka of Lípa and Colloredo-Mansfeld families.
