Above the right bank of the Elbe River, high above the village of Těchlovice, on the basalt hill of Vrabinec, lies the picturesque ruin of a medieval castle. Only modest remnants of the perimeter walls of the original fortification have been preserved, yet they still bear witness to the ancient past of the place. The entire castle hill is part of the Vrabinec Nature Reserve and also falls within the České středohoří Protected Landscape Area, which underlines its unique value. Visitors here can admire not only the remains of the castle, protected as a cultural monument, but also magnificent views of the surrounding landscape from the summit rocks. This place, also known as Vrabín or Vrabník, offers a fascinating connection between history and the rugged beauty of Czech nature.
