This historic fortress structure was built on the orders of Emperor Joseph II. in the 1880s and 1890s as an important defensive position of the Habsburg Monarchy. Visitors can walk through an extensive underground labyrinth of corridors that once served the military for secret movements. The above-ground parts of the fortress, with their monumental ramparts and bastions, invite a stroll in good weather.
