At the summit of Ostrý Hill (553 meters above sea level) in the picturesque České středohoří (Bohemian Central Highlands) stand the remains of a medieval castle. Its history dates back to the 1430s, when it was founded as a strategic fortress. Unfortunately, its glory did not last long; already by the mid-sixteenth century it was abandoned and left to its fate. Today, we find only modest fragments of the original masonry here, which, however, still breathe with the ancient past. These silent witnesses to history are carefully protected as a valuable cultural monument. Even with minimal preservation, the site offers a unique atmosphere and a reminder of ancient times in the heart of the České středohoří.
