On a wooded hill in the foothills of the Orlické Mountains rise the remains of a once proud medieval seat. These picturesque ruins of a Gothic castle, founded at the very beginning of the fourteenth century, are today protected as a cultural monument. If you head about six kilometers southwest from Žamberk to the village of the same name in the Ústí nad Orlicí district, you will discover a place shrouded in legends of a thieving knight. Of the original extensive fortifications, what has survived to this day in the Pardubice Region are mainly the remnants of the rampart walls, deep moats, and the castle palace. At the very top of the hill, not only a mysterious historical atmosphere awaits you, but also a wooden gazebo with a view of the picturesque surroundings.
