Roudnice Chateau majestically rises above the Elbe River, combining centuries of history with Baroque elegance. Its foundations date back to the second half of the twelfth century, when a Romanesque castle stood here, serving as an important seat for the Prague bishops. In the early seventeenth century, this strategic location came into the possession of the influential noble Lobkowitz family. Between 1652 and 1684, they gave it a completely new appearance through an extensive Baroque reconstruction, which gave rise to today's impressive chateau complex. Today, visitors can admire the architectural beauty and rich past of a place that has witnessed many historical events.
