As you look at the wooded promontory southwest above the town in the Blansko district, your attention is drawn to a monumental building whose foundations reach back to the thirteenth century. The original medieval castle underwent a striking transformation over the centuries, first taking on a Renaissance and later an elegant Classical appearance. This architectural complex, rising on a flat elevation, is today protected as a national cultural monument. The entire castle grounds are owned by the state and administered by the National Heritage Institute. The gates of this historic seat are open to the public, allowing visitors to admire both the preserved interiors and the outdoor areas.
