As you arrive at the western gate of this monumental seat, your attention is first drawn to the Romanesque Chapel of the Mother of God dating from the late 12th century. The complex itself, which towers above the second-class road number 384, is easily reached from Brno via Rakovecká Street. This significant historical complex, protected as a cultural monument since 1964, was declared a national cultural monument in November 2022, with the decision taking effect in July 2023. Today the castle is owned by the state and administered by the National Heritage Institute, and it is open to the public. Since June 2013, the entire site has been managed by the castle administrator Lenka Uedlová.
