Originally a late Gothic castle from the 15th century, it was rebuilt by the Lords of Vrbno into a Renaissance residence, which was later remodeled in the Baroque style between 1766 and 1771 by the Order of Teutonic Knights. The tour route leads through halls with original furnishings, valuable Rococo paintings, a picture collection, and an extensive library. The building, with its characteristic clock tower, also houses a regional museum with exhibitions on the nature of the Bruntál region and local crafts. The complex is surrounded by a large park with a salla terrena, a small lake, and preserved bastions of the town walls. These historical backdrops were also chosen by filmmakers for shooting the fairy tales 'The Emperor and the Drummer' and 'Ondra the Goldsmith'.
