The original Early Gothic castle, founded after 1300 by the Markvartic family, underwent Renaissance modifications and acquired its current Empire-style appearance in the 19th century. From 1628 until its confiscation in 1945, the estate was owned by the Des Fours Walderode family. The visitor routes pass through more than thirty state and residential rooms, which are carefully furnished according to their original state from the interwar period. The surroundings of the monument consist of a small, freely accessible English-style park with rare trees and a collection of historical stone sculptures.
