In the mid-16th century, spouses Jiří and Kateřina of Lokšany transformed the original 13th-century Gothic fortress into a representative residence. It was here that the secret wedding of Archduke Ferdinand of Tyrol and Philippine Welser took place in 1557. During the interior tour, you will visit the unique Lokšany Library from 1558, family galleries, the African salon, and the armory with exhibits from the 15th to the 19th centuries. Since 2021, the classic exhibitions have been complemented by the interactive multimedia tour 'Renaissance at Your Fingertips'. The outdoor areas offer a walk through a twenty-hectare English park with two ponds and a Renaissance herb garden.
