This mysterious ruin, hidden in the forests near Javorník in the Olomouc Region, still keeps historians awake at night, because its original name and founders remain shrouded in mystery. The current designation, as well as the German name Reichenstein, was given to this Silesian seat only later, after the mountain range in which it is located. According to experts, the fortress served in the past primarily to protect the trade route leading through the nearby Račí Valley. During a walk through the grounds, which have been listed as cultural monuments since 1964, you can admire the preserved remains of stone walls, the deep castle moat, and the foundations of former buildings. A marked hiking trail will lead you to the castle remains, offering a pleasant outing combined with discovering the past of this picturesque corner of our country.
