Founded at the turn of the 14th century, the fortress underwent a major transformation between 1895 and 1910, funded by Archduke Eugen of Austria. Its romantic appearance attracts filmmakers and has served as the backdrop for many historical films and fairy tales. Inside the residence, you can view fully furnished rooms with period furniture, paintings, and art objects. Among the most valuable parts is the Neo-Gothic castle chapel, which houses a Gothic altar and the tombstones of Grand Masters of the Teutonic Order. The complex, which has been state-owned since 1945 and a national cultural monument since 1999, also features two functional drawbridges and a portcullis, which can be seen in operation on festive occasions.

Originally a medieval castle, Bouzov owes its current romantic appearance to a generous reconstruction at the turn of the 20th century.
