In the picturesque cadastral area of the municipality of Bludov, in the Šumperk district in the north of the Olomouc Region, lie the modest, yet significant, remains of a medieval castle. Once upon a time, it served as an important residence and a robust fortification, guarding the surrounding landscape. Unfortunately, during the nineteenth century, its fate was sealed when stones from the decaying ruin were used to construct a new paved road, connecting Bludov with Šumperk via Bludoveček. Although only a torso remains, its historical value is undeniable. Since 1964, these remnants have been carefully protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic, commemorating the rich past of the region. Visitors here can experience the quiet atmosphere of ancient times and imagine life in a medieval stronghold, surrounded by beautiful nature.
