This Moravian castle originated at the turn of the twelfth and thirteenth centuries on the site of an original wooden fortification. Thanks to its excellent strategic location with far-reaching views, it served as a key military point protecting the historic Amber Road leading to Poland. At the beginning of the last century, Count Bedřich Deym ze Střítěže played a significant role in saving the decaying residence. Today, the complex is a protected monument, and the municipal administration is gradually reconstructing it with the help of state subsidies. Visitors can explore the restored castle tower, which houses a period exhibition of weapons and historical documents, and sit in the local restaurant.
